UBO: Transdisciplinary analysis of national and regional conflicts in contemporary Chile

Universidad Bernardo O’Higgins, together with its research centers, has designed the course “TRANSDISCIPLINARY ANALYSIS OF NATIONAL AND REGIONAL CONFLICTS IN CONTEMPORARY CHILE”.

The Internacional Course aims to provide knowledge about the national reality from a local and international perspective, with internal and external confl icts that stress contemporary Chile. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the dynamics between the different territories that together determine the actual political, social, economic and cultural Chilean scenery are faced. It is assumed that the study of the interrelations between collective actors and geographical areas will allow a better understanding of the challenges of a world in permanent change and will help a successful resolution of the traditional and emerging conflicts that face Chile and Latin America.

The course lasts 3 weeks, divided in: 2 weeks of theoretical courses taught in Santiago (Bernardo O’Higgins University) and one practical week taking place in northern Chile and Peru. The participants who require an evaluation of the course will have to deliver a research work on a topic related to the course offered, which will be directed, guided and evaluated by a profesor of the university. The course will be taught in Spanish, English and French depending on the participants.
